Interwoven – Supporting Unique Educational Journeys

This policy applies to clients, parents, caregivers, and educators who engage with Interwoven in person, online, or via www.educationinterwoven.co.nz.

2. What Information Is Collected

I collect only the personal information necessary to support your child or family’s learning journey. This may include:
- Names (child, parent, or caregiver)
- Dates of birth
- Contact details (email, phone, address of your choice)
- Information you choose to share about your current situation, challenges, goals, or context

3. How Information Is Collected

Information is gathered in the following ways:
- Direct conversations (in person, phone, or video call)
- Forms completed by you (e.g. via Typeform)

All information is provided voluntarily and only used for the purpose of supporting your educational needs.

4. Why This Information Is Collected

I collect personal information to:
- Understand your unique context, goals, and support needs
- Tailor and provide appropriate guidance or resources
- Communicate with you effectively
- Ensure safety, care, and professional responsibility

5. How Information Is Stored and Protected

Your information is securely stored:
- On a password-protected computer
- In paper form in a locked filing cabinet, within an office that is secured when unattended

Only I, Elaine Thompson, have access to your personal data. No data is stored or accessed by third parties unless with your explicit permission (e.g. to share a testimonial).

6. How Long Information Is Kept

In alignment with common practice in education and for accountability, personal information is retained for seven (7) years from the date of last contact, unless you request its removal sooner (where legally permitted).

7. Disclosure of Personal Information

Your personal information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except when:
- Required by law or professional safeguarding obligations
- You have provided written permission (e.g. for a testimonial)

8. Children’s Privacy

I take the privacy of children seriously. Where information is collected about or from a child, parental or guardian consent is required. All data is handled with extra care and respect in accordance with the sensitivity of working with young people.

9. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information I hold about you or your child
- Request corrections to ensure it is accurate and up to date
- Ask for your information to be deleted, where appropriate
