Privacy Statement

1. Who this statement is for
This statement applies to clients, parents, caregivers, and educators who engage with Interwoven in person, online, or via www.educationinterwoven.co.nz.
2. What information I collect and why
I collect only the personal information reasonably necessary to provide and manage my services. This may include your name, date of birth, contact details, information you choose to share about your situation, goals or context, notes from sessions, agreements, invoices, communications, and information relating to concerns, incidents or complaints where relevant to professional responsibility or safety. Information is collected directly from you through conversations, phone or video calls, email, forms such as Typeform, and other communications. Where appropriate, information may also be provided by an organisation or another person involved in the service. I use this information to understand your context and support needs, provide and manage services, communicate with you, maintain appropriate professional records, and meet my professional or legal responsibilities. You can choose whether to provide personal information. However, some information may be necessary for me to provide a particular service.
2. How I protect and retain information
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Information may be stored electronically on a password-protected computer or through trusted digital and cloud-based services, or in paper form in a locked filing cabinet. Access to Interwoven records is limited to me and, where necessary, trusted service providers who process information on my behalf. Some digital services I use may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where this occurs, I take reasonable steps to ensure that the information is subject to appropriate privacy protections. My general retention period for client and professional records is seven years from the date of last contact, reflecting the educational and professional context in which Interwoven operates. Some records may need to be kept for a different period where required or permitted by law, or where reasonably necessary for a particular purpose. When information is no longer required, I will take reasonable steps to securely dispose of or delete it.
3. Sharing information
I will not sell your personal information or share it for unrelated purposes. Information may be shared with your permission, where necessary to provide a service you have requested, where required or authorised by law, where necessary for serious safety or professional responsibility concerns, or with trusted service providers who process information on my behalf. Where another organisation arranges or contracts Interwoven to provide a service, that organisation may have its own privacy arrangements.
4. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask whether I hold personal information about you, request access to it, and request correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. Please contact me using the details below to make a request.
5. Website and email communications
When you visit the Interwoven website, Squarespace may collect information about your visit, such as pages visited, traffic sources, approximate geographic information and technical information about your device or browser. Interwoven does not currently use Google Analytics or advertising tracking. If you choose to receive Interwoven email communications, your contact details will be used for that purpose and you can unsubscribe at any time. I may ask for feedback or testimonials and will only publish an identifiable testimonial with your permission.
6. Children and other people's information
I take particular care when information relates to children or other people who are not directly engaging with Interwoven. Information about another person will only be collected and used where this is appropriate and permitted under the Privacy Act 2020.
7. Updates and contact
This Privacy Statement may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in Interwoven's services, practices or legal requirements. The current version will be available at: www.educationinterwoven.co.nz
