Walking Together

Pathfinding with Elaine at Interwoven

A shared understanding of how we’ll work together

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.
This page outlines how I work, what you can expect, and the shared understanding that would support our time together. It’s not full of legalese — just clear, respectful edges that would help both of us feel grounded and safe as we explore the path ahead.

It offers a sense of what our agreement might look like — should we choose to walk together.

What is Interwoven Pathfinding?

My work blends mentoring, guiding, and education-based coaching. I walk alongside parents, educators, and children as we make sense of the terrain you're navigating — whether you're at a crossroads, stuck in the mud, or simply looking to grow, or to plant something new and see where it takes root.

Our sessions might include reflective conversations, practical strategies, or gentle guided processes informed by my training in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), education, and child development. Sometimes, this work is about problem-solving. Other times, it’s about rediscovering clarity, confidence, or possibility.

At the heart of it all: I trust that you already carry your own answers — my role is to help you hear them more clearly.

The Nature of Our Work

Pathfinding is not therapy, nor is it a medical or clinical service. It’s a professional, non-judgemental space for growth, insight, and movement forward. If NLP tools or processes become part of our journey, I’ll always explain them clearly and seek your permission before we begin.

If at any point it becomes clear that a different kind of support would better meet your needs, I will let you know and, if appropriate, help guide you towards someone more suitable.

Confidentiality & Care

What you share with me will be held with care and confidentiality. I will never share personal information without your permission, unless required by law (for example, if someone is at risk of harm). Notes I take are brief, securely stored, and used only to support your progress. You’re welcome to ask to see them or have them deleted at any time.

Responsibilities: Yours and Mine

What you can expect from me:

  • To show up fully and on time, and honour our time together

  • To listen deeply, with respect and curiosity

  • To offer guidance, questions, tools, and reflections that support your direction

  • To work within my scope, and refer you elsewhere if needed

  • To maintain your confidentiality and autonomy

What I will ask of you:

  • To be open and willing to reflect, explore, and take small steps

  • To communicate honestly — including if something doesn’t feel right

  • To follow through with any actions or tasks we agree on

  • To come to sessions in a focused, present state, free from substance use

  • To honour our time — including communicating promptly if plans need to change

Sessions and Payment

Each session is typically 60–90 minutes. The number of sessions we work together is flexible — sometimes one is enough, sometimes it’s a longer journey.

Invoicing will be agreed based on the nature of our work:

  • NLP or change-focused sessions may be paid in advance

  • Educational mentoring is often invoiced afterward

Session fees will be discussed and agreed clearly in advance. I ask that payments be made within a week of receiving the invoice, unless otherwise arranged.

Cancellations

Life happens. If you need to reschedule, please give as much notice as you can — ideally 24 hours or more. Late cancellations or no-shows may still be charged. If something unexpected happens, just let me know — compassion is always part of the process.

Between Sessions

I may send you questions or tasks to reflect on, or check in gently if needed. You’re welcome to take that at your own pace. I keep direct contact between sessions to a minimum so that our work remains focused — unless we’ve agreed otherwise.

Ending or Pausing Our Work

You’re always free to pause or end our work together at any time. If you feel unsure, we can talk about it — often clarity arises from honest conversation. Likewise, if I feel the work has reached its natural end or isn’t the right fit, I’ll let you know with care and transparency.

If we have pre-paid sessions remaining, these will be refunded (unless otherwise agreed).

Thank you for considering walking your path alongside me.
Whether you are five or fifty, you will be met with warmth, integrity, and hope. Let me invite you to get in touch, and we can explore whether we might walk together a while, and what a bespoke agreement that is absolutely right for you might look like.
Here’s to discovering what’s possible.

With care,
Elaine Thompson
