Held

Sometimes what you need when you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, alone, lost, or a mixture of all three, is some space. There’s a place for mentoring and combining what you know with the wisdom of others, and there’s a place for pausing, breathing, settling, gathering your thoughts and seeing wat is simply within you.

Sharing circles deliberately seek to find and be that place.

Somewhere quiet, somewhere intimate; somewhere to speak and be heard; somewhere to be silent and simply seen; somewhere without judgement; somewhere without right or wrong; somewhere to be vulnerable; somewhere to feel safe; somewhere you trust; a place where no-one will seek to fix you and resolution isn’t required.

Somewhere to be held.

For me, these spaces are precious. I know how much it helps me to be held like this, and so it feels good to offer these spaces as part of my small Interwoven business, which seeks to support those who are feeling overwhelmed, alone or lost. There’s just that shift from being a mapmaker and pathfinder to simply holding the map. Two spaces feel enough; one online and one in person. Here they are again below…

    In-Person Sharing Circles

    Six Places | Ninety Minutes

    $70 per person

A carefully facilitated space where people can share, listen and simply be witnessed, without needing to find a solution. We don’t always need advice, answers or another thing to fix. Sometimes we just need somewhere to put down what we are carrying and people who are willing to listen. This is not coaching or mentoring, it is simply room.

These are open circles and they are deliberately kept small so that the space is kept intimate and everyone has the time to speak if they would like to. Generally they will follow a flow of a grounding activity to open, a shared drink, journal prompts and intention setting, time for everyone to share who would like to, and closing with a grounding activity to complete the circle.

If we are meeting in person, I will take great care over our space. It may be in my home, or it may be somewhere that is common to you as a small group. Details for parking will be given.

I will create a circle with comfortable cushions or chairs, with a centre point to hold our gaze. Have you thought about how circles are repeated throughout nature and across history? They form when energy spreads evenly, with gravity pulling towards a centre, and in human tradition they represent wholeness, cycles, equality, protection, infinity, unity, continuity and divinity. When we gather and sit in a circle, everyone is seen and no-one is elevated. Biology and spirituality; I love how this feels.

Bring yourselves, a special cushion or blanket if you wish, and a journal and pen. A comforting drink and tissues are provided!

If we are meeting online, I would encourage you to think carefully about where you sit yourself down. Find somewhere that is quiet and private. Snuggle in a comfy chair? With a blanket? A cushion? A window open to catch the summer breeze? A fire crackling to balance the frost outside your door? Music playing that you know you love and that grounds you? Whatever is comfortable for you will be right for you.

You can trust me with the online space.

Have with you a comforting drink, a journal and pen, and a candle with some matches to light her. I love the smell that lingers in the air when I have struck a match…

These sharing circles are not a substitute for professional mental health support, counselling, therapy or coaching, and you remain in charge of your participation and your wellbeing during and after the session.

They are a facilitated space for human connection, reflection, and being heard.
